Dogsledding-On-Wheels TM is just the best!  When people come to our paradise to try it for their first time they are often astonished at how much fun they are having with the dogs and how beautiful our “get-a-way” is.  Over and over we hear:

“Why didn’t we know about this sooner?”

“We thought it would be fun when we saw the brochure, but this is more magical than words could ever describe!”

“You have to find a way to tell people about this! “

“It is so beautiful here!!!!”

“These dogs are great!”

dogsledding-on-wheelsOnce the snow stops flying we are able to offer Dogsledding-On-Wheels TM Tours during the spring, summer and fall.  Although different from snow sledding, it is equally special in its own wonderful way – MINUS THE COLD!!!!   Our Discovery Channel Type Tour allows you to meet our very special, free-range (never chained!) people pleasing, loving and fun Alaskan Huskies in a personal, more relaxed way that the busy Winter season allows.  The dogs love to show you how to harness them, hitch them up to our unique designed cart and then take you for a ride on our incredible trail system.  During the tour we stop at the pond where you can watch their playful antics swimming in the water, jumping for cookies and racing laps around the pond.  You can even jump in and swim with the dogs if you bring your swimsuit and a towel!!!  A second hitching and ride gives you more of an experience of how well they respond to commands and love to pull – its in their genes – they are born to it!  After wards you will feed them cookies and help us unhitch them – then enjoy Lemonade and cookies.  Many people bring a box lunch, deli sandwiches or a picnic so that they can savor the beauty and take in the special views our land offers - both our meadows and the far-range views of the Lowell Mountains.

two person dogsledding-on-wheels cartOur sled-on-wheels is designed by Fritz Dyke in Germany and then shipped here.  It  has a special suspension that allows you to feel almost the same sensation as being pulled over snow – Without the Cold!!!!!!  Our well-designed, engineered trail system is built just for Dog sledding and Dog sledding-On-Wheels TM – it takes you through the meadows, with their long range views and into the beautiful woods where you might spot a Moose and down to our large pond.  Depending on the season and a bit of luck our visitors have seen deer, turkeys and many species of birds, including herons and hawks.

Our haven is the premier Dogsledding Center in New England.  People love the Dog sledding-On-Wheels TM so much that they often become repeat visitors, season after season, year after year.  This is truly a special experience that you will enjoy if you love dogs, animals, nature.  Our 75 acres are tucked into 3000 acres of Vermont protected wilderness, yet easily accessed through our specially built, two mile access road, a mile off the scenic, wonderful Route 100.

eden dog sledding learning centerIn our learning center we will answer your questions and teach you about the sport of dog sledding.   Please bring along your curiosity and be ready to open yourself up to all that this wonderful sport and our home-raised dogs have to offer.

We do suggest that you wear sturdy shoes, long pants are best – you can change your clothes in one of our bathroom/changing rooms if you wish.  We will serve cookies and Lemonade but we encourage you to bring snacks, lunches or sandwiches because many people love to linger after wards and are sad that their stomachs call them or the children away before they are ready to really depart.

Here are some of the many great letters that we have received from our wonderful guests!

“Hey Jim - I just wanted to e-mail to thank you for how special you treated us when we visited last month.  Eden Dogsledding and Dogsledding-On-Wheels is an asset to Vermont that everyone should know about.  Johnny has not stopped talking about the dogs or the dogsled-ride-on-wheels.  After everything else we did while in Vermont, our visit with you guys is all he can talk about. . . and the first thing I bring up with friends when they ask about the trip. . . I truly can’t thank you enough. . . . we will return . .  P.S. . Johnny asked if you would tell all the dogs hello from him . . especially Luna!”  Johnny, Lisa and John -Gulfport, Mississippi

“We want to thank you for an adventurous tour last Sunday with the dogs!  We had a great time and we loved all the dogs.  They were all so adorable and friendly and it is clear they are very happy.  They definitely have a good home and we can tell they are very loved.  We especially loved Luna, she’s a sweetheart and we wished we could take her home!  We plan on coming back next summer for another visit!” Amy and Christian -June 2007
